Das Kittchen Herberge & Café

Das Kittchen is more than just a hotel. Within the walls of this former juvenile detention center, history meets a sense of comfort and sanctuary. Where isolation once reigned, life now pulses. We have preserved the building’s rugged soul with a keen eye for detail. Feel the cool brick of the walls and the solid wood of the original cell doors. Every corner tells a story—especially the historic prison sign at the entrance. Our prison hotel is more than just accommodation in Wismar; it is a retreat with character and a truly unique experience. We invite you to experience Wismar in a way that gets under your skin—behind walls that now breathe freedom. Our hotel is located right in the city center, surrounded by churches.
