Yushi Chikumakan

Welcome to Yushi Chikumakan, a truly authentic Japanese inn nestled amidst the natural beauty by the Chikuma River. We're proud to offer two distinct hot spring sources, each providing a unique bathing experience in our spacious communal baths and serene open-air baths. Imagine soaking while admiring the carp in our garden bath, or being transported by the mythical phoenix mural in another of our open-air baths – it’s a truly magical escape.

Our inn is ideally situated in the renowned Togura Kamiyamada hot spring village. Historically a place for visitors to the magnificent Zenkoji Temple and for those observing traditional mourning customs, it’s now a perfect base for exploring further afield. Discover the captivating Obuse area, vibrant with seasonal attractions like the Anzu no Sato orchards in spring, or embark on a pilgrimage to Zenkoji Temple.

Getting here is straightforward. From Togura Station, take the city loop bus for about 5 minutes to the Togura Onsen iriguchi stop, followed by a short 4-minute walk to our door. If you're travelling from Ueda Station, a 20-minute ride on the Shinano railway will bring you to Togura Station.
