Semalam at Sun Yat Sen

Welcome to Semalam at Sun Yat Sen Boutique Hostel, your unique base in the vibrant heart of Medan's Chinatown. We're not just a place to sleep; we're an experience designed to help you connect and discover. Whether you're stopping by for a night before heading to Bukit Lawang or Lake Toba – hence our name 'Semalam', meaning 'one night' in Bahasa – we're dedicated to showcasing the hidden charms of our hometown.

As the only boutique capsule hostel in Medan, we offer a distinctive stay. Choose from our comfortable mixed dorms, secure female-only dorms, or private single and double pods. Our focus is on fostering connections and creating a memorable travel experience, even during a short visit.

While we operate on a convenient self-check-in system, our team is always on hand to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Don't hesitate to let us know how we can make your time with us even more special. After all, you might only get to explore North Sumatra once!

We often find our rates are more competitive than those found on sites like Booking.com or Expedia. Book directly with us to potentially secure our best prices and experience the Semalam difference.
