About Acel Beach Resrto
Acel Beach Resort is a 4-star all-inclusive beachfront resort on Egypt's Red Sea coast, on Marsa Alam Road roughly 22 km south of El Quseir. It reopened on 15 August 2026 after a full renovation, and it forms part of the wider Acel Bay development.
The setting is the point. The resort has its own sandy beach with a reef running along the shoreline, so snorkelling starts at the water's edge rather than after a boat ride. That is not universal on this coast, where plenty of resorts sit behind shallow lagoons or need a jetty to reach anything worth looking at.
Longer-standing visitors to this stretch of coast may know the property by its previous name, Pensee Beach Resort. The renovation has changed the name, the interiors and the operating brand.
The resort is well set up for two groups in particular: families, with a supervised kids' club and a children's pool, and snorkellers and divers, with a PADI and SSI dive centre on site. It is a straightforward all-inclusive resort holiday. It is not a boutique property and it is not in a town.
Why Stay at Acel Beach Resort?
Snorkelling from the beach, not from a boat. The house reef runs along the resort's own shoreline. You can be in the water within a few minutes of leaving your room.
Recently renovated. The resort reopened in August 2026 after refurbishment, so the rooms and public areas are new rather than tired. Room categories are phasing in through to October, so check what is open for your dates.
A dive centre on site. PADI and SSI courses and guided dives are run from the resort, which suits both first-time divers and anyone who wants to dive without arranging transport each morning.
Genuinely quiet. The nearest town is 22 km away. If you want a resort where the evening entertainment is the entertainment, this is that. If you want to walk into a town for dinner, it is not.
The Beach, Reef and Pools
The Private Beach
Acel Beach Resort has its own private sandy beach with a sandy entry into the water, which makes it manageable for children and for anyone who would rather not clamber over coral. Sun loungers, parasols and beach towels are included, and there is a beach bar and a shower.
Snorkelling and the House Reef
Yes, you can snorkel at Acel Beach Resort, and you can do it straight from the beach. The resort has a house reef along its shoreline, which is the main reason to choose this stretch of coast over the busier resorts further north.
The Red Sea reefs off Marsa Alam and El Quseir are known for hard and soft corals and reef fish, and the wider area is well known for green turtles and dugongs, though those are found at specific sites such as Abu Dabbab rather than reliably on any one resort's reef. Do not expect a guaranteed turtle from your sun lounger.
The on-site dive centre runs PADI and SSI courses and guided dives, so the reef works for complete beginners and for certified divers.
Swimming Pools
The resort has outdoor swimming pools and a separate children's pool. The main pools are heated during the winter season, which matters more than UK travellers expect: Red Sea air temperatures stay pleasant through winter but unheated pools get cold from December onwards.
Family Facilities at Acel Beach Resort
Acel Beach Resort is set up for families. The kids' club takes children aged 4 to 12 and runs supervised activities from 10:00 to 17:00. There is a separate children's pool, a playground and a children's water play area with a slide.
The sandy beach entry is the practical advantage for families with young children, since there is no need to negotiate rocks or coral to get into the water.
The resort runs an entertainment and animation programme, with evening shows in the amphitheatre.
Is Acel Beach Resort Good for Couples?
It works for couples who want a quiet beach holiday with good snorkelling, and less well for couples who want to go out.
In its favour: the resort is remote, the beach is private, the reef is on the doorstep and the pools are heated in winter. The Swim Up rooms opening on 1 October 2026 are the obvious choice for a couples booking from autumn onwards.
Against: there is no town within walking distance, dining is resort-based, and the resort runs a family-oriented animation programme with a kids' club and evening shows. If you want a quiet adults-only property, this is not it.
